STILLWATER -- Rebecca "Becky" L. Ogden, 61, died peacefully at her sister's home in Stillwater June 5, 2004, after a courageous 15 year battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Stillwater, the daughter of Norman W. and Mabel (Carson) Ogden.
She was a devoted daughter and caregiver to her parents. Becky was employed as a recoptionist at Cutler Health Center at the University of Maine until she became disabled. Prior to that she was employed at Beatons Hardware, Shiros Hardware, and Jefferson Street School. She was the number one fan of all her nieces and nephews and followed all their activities, especially Old Town Basketball.
She is survived by a brother, Norman E. Ogden and his wife, Connie; two sisters, Janet Thurston and her husband, Roy, and Addie Lou Bergeron and her husband, Charlie, all of Stillwater; 10 nieces and nephews: 25 great-nieces and great-nephews; a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew; three aunts, Doris and Frank Curtis, Louise Dall, and Esther Weinstein. She was predeceased by her parents. She will be fondly remembered for her devotion to her family.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A celebration of Becky's life will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stillwater Federated Church with Pastor Ron Chaffee, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawndale Cemetery. Immediately following the burial all are invited to return to the church for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care of Maine care of Eastern Maine Charities, P.O. Box 404, Bangor, ME 04402-0404
