THORNDIKE -- George H. Carson, 80, died suddenly Sunday evening.
He was born at Mapleton October 1, 1882, son of George and Selena (Ravin) Carson.
He was a member of the Harvest Moon Grange of Thorndike.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lottie Carson; five daughters, Mrs. Mabel A. Ogden of Old Town, Mrs. Doris Curtis of Unity, Mrs. Florence Bragdon of Belfast, Mrs. Ada Boulter of Knox, Mrs. Alice Nadeau of Old Town; three sons, Ansel of Thorndike, Leroy of Unity, and Kenneth of Thorndike; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Whipple of Oxbow, Mrs. Vesta Flemming of Oxbow; two brothers, Harry Carson of Ashland and Frank Carson of Morrill; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ruby Fields of Freeport and Mrs. Bernice Gordon of Belfast; a half-brother, John Merry of Belfast; several nieces, nephews and cousins; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of God in East Thorndike, the Rev. Arnold Reynolds of Thorndike officiating.
Burial will be in the Center Cemetery, Thorndike.
Friends may call at the Brazier Funeral Home, Brooks, Tuesday.
