Doris I. (Carson) Curtis, 85, of Unity, passed away September 3, 2007, at Maine General in Waterville. She was born September 6, 1922, in Thorndike, daughter of the late George H. and Addie L. (Gordon) Carson.
 Doris was a member of the Quaker Hill Christian Church and Senior Citizen Group in Unity. She participated in TOPS of Albion, enjoyed cake decorating and was the "cake Lady" in Unity. She loved her cats and walking a couple of miles a day. For many years, Doris was an avid snowmobiler. She had a tremendous memory of the history and people in the area. Doris was an excellent cook and a self-educated woman. She loved having company and serving different goodies when friends and family were around.
 Doris was predeceased by her husband, Frank D. Curtis Sr.; son Frank D. Curtis Jr.; and her seven siblings.
 She is survived by her son, Larry Curtis and wife Bette of Unity, five grandchildren, William Carlton of Knox, Roxanne Curtis of Unity, Angela England of Sevierville, Tenn., Belinda Testerman of Rockford, Tenn., and Sarah Esancy of Rosindale, Mass.; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many special friends in the Unity area.
 Funeral services will be at the Quaker Hill Christian Church in Unity with the Pastor Paul Keller officiating.
