SOUTH ST. ALBANS -- On Sunday, Oct. 6, funeral services were held for George A. Carson at the home of his brother, W. H. Carson in this town. The deceased was 66 years of age, and had been in failing health for over three years when his death occurred in Belfast on Oct. 2, at the home of his son, George H. Carson. His only surviving brother was at once notified who went to Belfast where arrangements were made to bring the remains here for burial. Mr. Carson was born in Corinna, April 3, 1852, the son of Henry D. and Eliza F. (Rand) Carson, and was one of a family of seven children, out of which there is only one left, the above mentioned brother. Four sons and two daughters survive. Frank Carson of Thorndyke, George H. of Belfast, Charles of Presque, Harry of Camp Devens, Mrs. Vesta Fleming, and Mrs. Hattie Whipple of Oxbow, also 16 grandchildren. Rev. Mr. Swift of the Baptist church, Hartland, officiated at the funeral. Interment was made in the family lot in the Crocker cemetery.

George married Selena Irene Raven, daughter of William Neal Raven and Hannah Jane Hanson, on 20 May 1876 in Mapleton, Aroostook, Maine, United States.
