OXBOW -- Mrs. Vesta (Carson) Fleming, 83, died Monday at a Presque Isle hospital after a brief illness.
She was born November 19, 1879, at Mapleton, the daughter of George and Selena (Raven) Carson.
She is survived by two brothers, Frank of Belfast and Harry of Ashland; a half-brother, John Merry of Belfast; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Whipple of Oxbow, Mrs. Bernice Gordon of Belfast, Mrs. Ruby Fields of Searsport; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Stimson funeral home at Ashland Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Manuel Snow, pastor of the Masardis Congregational Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the family lot at Oxbow cemetery.

Vesta married Frederick James Fleming on 13 Dec 1905 in Ashland, Aroostook, Maine, United States. (Frederick James Fleming was born on 23 Feb 1880 in Oxbow, Aroostook, Maine, United States, died on 26 Mar 1958 in Presque Isle, Aroostook, Maine, United States and was buried in Swett Cemetery, Oxbow, Aroostook, Maine, United States.)
