OXBOW -- Mrs. Hattie Whipple, 92, died Oct. 16, 1978 at a Presque Isle nursing home. She was born at Mapleton July 13, 1886, the daughter of George and Celina Carson. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Madeline (Earle) of Oxbow, Mrs. Mildred Gardiner of Connecticut, Mrs Myrtle Sperry of Ashland; three sons, William and Fred, both of Oxbow, Joe of Ashland, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at the Stimson Funeral Home, Ashland, Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday noon until 2 p.m., the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oxbow Cemetery.
Hattie married William Roscoe Whipple on 4 Aug 1900 in Washburn, ME.1 The marriage ended in divorce on 7 Oct 1932. (William Roscoe Whipple was born on 13 Oct 1878 in East Machias, ME,1 4 died on 2 Apr 1961 in Oxbow, ME 10 and was buried on 5 Apr 1961 in Willard Cemetery, Oxbow, ME.)
