OXBOW -- William Rosco Whipple, 82, died at his home here Sunday morning after a long illness.
He was born October 13, 1878, at East Machias, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Whipple.
He had lived here for the past 50 years. Before retiring he was a pulpwood worker.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida Mae (Reames) Whipple; three sons, Fred, Joseph and William Jr., all of Oxbow; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Gardner, and Mrs. Myrtle Sperry of Connecticut and Mrs. Madeline Earle, Oxbow; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the residence Monday evening and any time Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church Wednesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Manuel Snow, officiating.
Burial will be in the family lot in the Oxbow Cemetery.


William married Hattie Eliza Carson, daughter of George Albert Carson and Selena Irene Raven, on 4 Aug 1900 in Washburn, Aroostook, Maine, United States.
