FREEDOM \emdash  Floyd E. Raven, 87, died June 7, 2009, at his residence in Freedom after a long illness. He was born March 28, 1922, in Montville, son of Ernest and Ellura (Wentworth) Raven.
 Floyd came to Freedom at the age of 2 and lived here his whole life. Floyd worked 10 years as a riveter on bridge construction. He raised chickens and built chicken houses for 20 years then he worked doing concrete foundations for 30 years.
 He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Burleigh and Allen; and three sisters, Evelyn and Annie Raven and Hester Pottle.
 Floyd is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia Raven; one sister, Thelma Seaman of Litchfield; seven children, Dee and Fred Overlock, June Raven, Floyd Raven Jr. and Mark Raven, all of Freedom, Karen and Larry Seehafer of Marathon, Wis., Jean and Scott Jones, and Shawn and Becky Raven, all of Freedom; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and one special nephew, Brian of Freedom.
 Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
 
 Floyd married Julia Estella Doughty on 22 Aug 1948 in Bailey Island, Harpswell, Cumberland, Maine, United States.
