Margaret (Hazlett) Berube, 75, of Ashford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, (October 23, 2011) after a long illness. Born in Caribou, ME on November 24, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Eldon Hazlett and Myrtle Whipple, both of Maine. Margaret attended school in Maine and then at the age of 20 she moved to Connecticut. Margaret spent most of her life working for Meadows Nursing Home in Manchester, CT. After 20 years of committed service, Margaret retired at the age of 62. Margaret enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her son, Dan Berube and his wife Rita of Ellington, daughter, Brenda Trudeau and her husband Mike of Ashford, son Bob Berube of Ashford, son Allan Berube and his wife Cynthia of Hebron; eight grandchildren, Tina Main, Michele Berube, Bruce Coolbeth, Eddie Coolbeth, Adam Berube, Audra Berube, Bobby Berube Jr., Melissa Berube, Raelene Asselin and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Donna Auclair, Ruthene Coty and her husband Gordon, Wanda Hazlett, a brother Gene Sperry, a special sister in-law Irene Berube, of Southington and "favorite" son, Mark Reynold of Ashford. Margaret also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her son Herman, sister Jannet Robinson and her parents. Margaret enjoyed going to the casino, bingo, playing games with her family, and baking. Margaret LOVED  her Red Sox! She was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Church of Ashord, Connecticut. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 p.m. at St. Philip The Apostle Church, Rte. 44, Ashford. Interment will follow in St. Philip Cemetery.
