Mrs. Evelyn M. Wilcox, 73, of 29-5 Tall Pines Drive, Lewiston, died Monday morning at St. Mary's General Hospital following a short illness.
Born in Wade, April 4, 1905, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie Raven Pooler, she was educated in Wade schools and resided in Lewiston three years.
Before moving to Lewiston she lived in Aroostook County in the Washburn and Woodland areas. She taught school for a number of years in the town of Mayfield.
Mrs. Wilcox was a member of the United Baptist Church of Caribou.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Newell of Lewiston and Dawn Soucy of Grand Isle; two sons, Glenn Wilcox and Joseph Wilcox, both of Lewiston; three sisters, Annie Nickerson and Mrs. Hampford (Ruth) Duncan both of Washburn, and Josephine Fitzgerald of Cape Cod, Mass.; two brothers, William Pooler of Grafton, Mass., and Bernard Pooler of Avon, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Evelyn married Glenwood William Wilcox on 19 Nov 1930 in Caribou, Aroostook, Maine, United States.
